Philanthropist Sydney Hermant sponsored a competition to create a tapestry to hang in the stairwell of The Metropolitan Board of Trades then new headquarters in downtown Toronto. The tapestry was acquired by the Estate of Helen Frances Gregor after the Board of Trade moved.
